Ekedahl

Founder

I have over 25 years of experience in Executive Search, working as a headhunter and in various management positions within the industry. Over the years, it became increasingly clear to me that we need a different kind of leadership and a more equitable business sector, especially in top executive roles. Driven by a desire to change and modernize the executive search industry, my work with the podcast Karriärpodden further fueled my commitment to promoting more women to top positions. As a co-founder of Women for Leaders and its extensive ecosystem, I gained the conviction that we need to gather and think differently. This all led to the launch of EQ Executive Search in 2020 with my partners. The firm is named for our dedication to Equity and the belief in a leadership defined by high Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

What is your professional driving force?

I thrive on connecting with people through deep conversations about life and career. When I first launched the Karriärpodden podcast over 10 years ago, it was with a strong belief that we need to highlight more female leaders as role models to work towards a more equal business sector. This work reinforces my belief in human potential and the power of providing individuals with the right conditions to flourish in their roles. My genuine interest in understanding human drivers and potential led me early in my career to recognize a natural ability to foster open dialogue in deep interviews with final candidates. I formally pursued this by training as a therapist and coach—expertise I continually leverage in my work with individual and management team development.

What characteristics have brought you to where you are today?

I am a driven and goal-oriented person who doesn’t give up easily. But what I often hear, and what I value highly, is my ability to build strong relationships and open up for deep, meaningful conversations. Building trust is the key to successful Executive Search.
